Dr Reza Nejad
Dr Reza Nejad is a registered clinical psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, with over 24 years of experience, holding clinical endorsement and recognition as a board-approved supervisor through AHPRA.
Reza enjoys spending time with his family, his friends, watching movies and soccer. Reza is caring, empathic and strongly values the role of the therapeutic relationship. He provides a professional and safe therapeutic environment for his patients. He believes change is always possible and see his role as being to support people to reach their goals. Reza feels that his varying life experiences have shaped him into a more effective psychologist.
Reza has a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Adelaide as well as Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in psychology.
He holds the Academic Title of Clinical Senior Lecturer with the School of Psychology at The University of Adelaide, and provides placement supervision, coursework seminar and supervision for research projects.
Reza has full membership with the Australian Psychological Society and the College of Clinical Psychologists.
Dr Reza Nejad is internationally trained (Spain, Belgium and USA) and accredited in a broad range of evidence-based and contemporary treatment modalities, including prolonged exposure therapy, and cognitive behaviour therapy. Reza has worked in a wide range of mental health services in Australia and the USA prior to start his private practice.
Dr Reza specialises in anxiety disorders, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorder, grief and loss, insomnia, couple therapy and OCD.
He has a research background in a wide range of mental health conditions. He has been the principal researcher on numerous areas of clinical research into psychological issues and continues to supervise postgraduate students completing research in this area. From time to time Reza is also invited to provide expert critiques on scientific papers within his field of expertise.
